Our History
The Craft Guild of St. Mary's County was established in 1976 by a group of talented artists with the goal of organizing and operating a retail store right here in the heart of Southern Maryland.
The original shop was called the "Christmas Country Store" with the name eventually being changed to the "Craft Guild Shop". Over the course of 40+ years the location of the store has changed within Leonardtown but the mission and visions of the original founders have remained the same. We are a membership-based group who work together as a co-op to promote and preserve the traditions of handcrafting and artistic creativity. We have skilled crafters who engage in fabric arts, jewelry making, woodworking, floral artistry, photography, glass work, tobacco stick art, baking/ culinary specialties, and much more. |
