Congratulations to Debra Makowski, our featured Artist of the Month! Debra has quite the extensive experience of creating and crafting (since she was in kindergarten she says!). Coming up with new ideas and creating almost anything that has to do with fibers keeps her busy- crocheting, knitting, basketry, weaving, sewing, & more! She does it all!
Debra is originally from the Seattle area but has lived in St. Mary's County for 17 years now. After a rewarding career of working with Special Education students for over 26 years, Debra has recently retired but continues to keep busy with her artwork and also enjoys spending time with her family and 6 grandchildren (all who have sported beautiful baby hats at one time or another!). Custom orders are readily accepted and many of her items would make great Mother's Day presents (hint, hint!). Come meet Debra at the shop or leave a message for her if you would like to place a Special Order. Congratulations to Judy Polca from Judy's Glass Garden! Judy is a multi-media artist who has been sewing and crafting since the age of 8 years old. Her specialties include stained glass pieces, butterfly & bird feeders, candle making, photography, and so much more! Stop by soon to see her new spring items.
We invite you to a special class coming soon to the Craft Guild Shop, learn a wonderful quilting technique called 'English Paper Piecing'. The $30 fee includes all instructions, materials, and a supply kit for this Hot Pad project. Also included with the class fee is an optional (and complimentary) second session on Feb. 17th, to allow you to expand your design and skill capabilities.
